The Texas Rangers acquired Gallo in the first draft, and he debuted in 2015. The Rangers traded him in 2021 to the Yankees.
Having won two Gold Glove Awards, the slugger has struggled in his time with the Yankees. At Yankees Stadium on Thursday, Gallo said, “Every time I see a Yankees hat, every time I see a Yankees jersey, it’s something I’m going to have to understand, I didn’t play well as a Yankee. I wish I had.”
