With baseball being back in action, the thrill of the game and the crack of the bat are already winning hearts. Amidst the spring training hiatus, the LA Angels are yearning for a new and great pair to take over the mound in the regular season. The possible dynamic duo includes the two-way phenom, Shohei Ohtani, and a rookie catcher, Logan O’Hoppe.

As the Angels ace pitched his first bullpen, it was none other than the twenty-three-year-old rookie, O’Hoppe, behind the plate. The franchise is trying to get the two athletes acquainted to get them ready for an incredible season. The franchise has paired this dynamic duo as battery mates. Even though nothing is confirmed yet, the Angels want their top prospect to be on the same page as the two-way phenom. However, as soon as this news went on Twitter, it garnered mixed reactions from baseball fans.

Not all fans are looking forward to seeing Shohei Ohtani and his battery mate on the diamond

For those unversed, after the upcoming 2023 regular season, the chosen one, aka Ohtani, will be entering his free agency. Therefore, even though most fans are excited to see this iconic duo in the ballpark, not everyone thinks it’ll remain on the diamond for an extended period of time.

Showtime Samurai Shohei Ohtani, ever since his debut in the big league in 2018, has shown the potential to be one of the best ballplayers. Having won numerous accolades to his name in only five years in the league with the Angels, Shotime is set to become one of the best. And the Angels have played a significant role in it.

However, despite having one of the best on the team, the Angels failed to win a World Series, let alone reach the postseason. Therefore, it is still uncertain if the Angels star Ohtani will re-sign with them in his free agency.
