Now, despite being a Nationals player, Soto is not in a happy state. He even desired his feelings on Twitter through a Derek Jeter quote. But after a few minutes, the 2022 Home Run Derby champ deleted the tweet.

Whether Juan Soto signs the extension, he will remain a National till the 2025 MLB season. Notably, he still has three years left in his current contract. But the Nationals are not willing to let go of a generational player. And that is why they want Soto to sign an extension.

But now, after the infamous charter plane incident, Soto might not sign the extension with the Nationals. Per New York Post, he quoted Derek Jeter’s tweet, which says, “Loyalty one way is stupidity.” It indicates his current state of mind. However, he also deleted the tweet after a while.

Talking about the contract, the Nationals offered Soto a $440 million contract for 15 years. But as earlier mentioned, the Dominican Republican star rejected the proposal. And this is not the first time Soto has rejected an extension.
