MLB Icon Derek Jeter Reveals a Habit He Deeply Regrets Having During His Glorious New York Yankees Career

A thing that is always left in the mind of a person is the things they want to change by going into the past. There might or might not be any regrets. But there are some things that a person would like to change. The changes would be for the present and future to get even better. There is one such thing that the baseball legend, Derek Jeter, wants to change and regret it to this day.

Ever since he started playing baseball, the shortstop has won many awards. Jeter has won Rookie of the year in 1996.  The biggest achievement in baseball by getting inducted into the Hall of Fame. He also had his jersey number retired by the New York Yankees in 2017.

According to him, there is no such thing that a person should be regretting. Because even mistakes shape a person into who they are. But he still does regret one thing. 

What is the one thing that Derek Jeter would change if he could?

Around a week ago, the Hall of Famer Derek Jeter sat down with Angie Martinez for an episode of her podcast. There, they talked about multiple things. The stuff they talked about included how Jeter is at peace with his daughters not knowing much about his career.

Later, Angie asked him of having any regret about anything in his life. To this, the shortstop replied, “I don’t think you can say you have regrets because even the mistakes you make, it helps shape who you are.”

He continued, “If I could go back and change anything, what I would do is, my last season I kept a journal, every day it was like one sentence, two sentence, it wasn’t even necessarily about anything that happened in the game, just how, I was feeling at the time, and I wish I would have done that my entire career. “

Then he continued by saying that there’s so much that happens in one’s life, so many memories get made, and it’s hard to keep track of every one of them.

So many of Jeter’s memories got refreshed when that journal got opened again for his docuseries. And there were many things that he forgot, but people who got interviewed for the documentary didn’t. Therefore, he regrets not keeping the journal throughout his career.
