Two legends of American sports, five-time World Champion Derek Jeter and six-time NBA Champion Michael Jordan, carry a long-term friendship and one of the greatest cross-sports bonds. Ever since meeting for the first time in the Arizona Fall League, Jeter has considered Jordan as his older brother and immensely respects him. And this friendship extends even today. Back in September 2020, Michael Jordan, along with popular American stock car racer Denny Hamlin, decided to field a NASCAR team in the 2021 season called 23XI Racing for $150 million. Jordan and Jeter first met in the Arizona Fall League, when the future Yankees captain was still doing rounds of the Minor Leagues. When Jordan shifted to baseball, Jeter, or Captain Clutch, believed that he had the ability to eventually move to the Major Leagues.

While talking about that in an interview, Jeter had said, “Michael Jordan played baseball in Little League and then the next time he played, he’s playing in Double-A baseball. The biggest jump is from A to Double-A. If you can play in Double-A baseball, at some point, you can play in the major leagues.”
