Taking Griner’s release into the account, Jeter-led “The Players’ Tribune shared the same on their official Twitter account, quoting, “Brittney Griner is free.”

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden spoke on the matter, stating, “Brittney will soon be back in the arms of her loved ones, and she should have been there all along.” 

When talking about The Players’ Tribune, Derek Jeter launched this media venture in October 2014. Investing $20 million a year, the media house has conducted numerous interviews with various athletes. Thus, the Players’ Tribune aims to share personal stories about the athletes through first-person narrations. The format of the interviews varies from written accounts to podcasts and video graphic presentations.

The NBA career of Brittney Griner 

Griner made her WNBA debut as a center for the Phoenix Mercury. She has also played for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls and the UMMC Ekaterinburg. Griner is an eight-time WNBA All-Star player who won the league championship in 2014.
