Right from the start of the 2023 regular season, the New York Yankees have been struggling with injuries. Be it the pitching or hitting, the Aaron Boone-led team is not in a good position as far as the postseason is considered. The Yanks are especially struggling with their pitching options.

If not for Gerrit Cole, all key pitchers have not been available for the Pinstripes this season. However, things may be bright for the Yankees in the coming days, because not one but two star pitchers are set to make a strong comeback. Although Carlos Rodon has already made his debut for the Yankees, he is yet to prove his worth this season. Along with him coming is Nestor Cortes Jr., who was a force to be reckoned with from the mound last season.

It’s a big update for the Yankees, who are last in the AL East and have lost another series of the season. With Nestor joining in, the Yankees can use him on rotation, bringing multiple options for the team during this crucial juncture. It will also help the popular Cortes add to his time at the Yankees.

Cortes is in his fourth season at the Yankees and has done amazing for the team, which helped him get a 3.2 million extension last season. Cortes also reflected on it in his Tweet, which showed how much it means to him. Though an injury halted after a positive update, he could fulfill his “American dream.”
