The New York Yankees fans are unhinged. Has there ever been a question about that? Well, the ever-so-passionate fanbase that could get agitated with even the slightest of triggers has come across something that “ain’t impressive”. The folks who shook the Yankees nation are none other than MLB’s official Instagram page itself.

On one hand, there’s a celebration for a team that has broken records – the Los Angeles Dodgers. On the other, there are the Yanks who are seeing a dynamic growth from their previous season. While comparing these two superpowers, the fans have spoken up. 

Who Did It First? The New York Yankees or The Los Angeles Dodgers?

MLB shared a post highlighting the Dodgers’ achievement this season. The post was captioned, “Who else but LA? The @Dodgers are the first NL team to 10 wins in 2024!” Now while this is not wrong, it is also not 100% accurate as per the fans. Wonder why? There came in multiple angles to this piece of statistics.

One of many, was that the Blue Crew played a week earlier than everyone else. The Dodgers started their 2024 campaign internationally against the San Diego Padres by splitting two games in Seoul, South Korea. Remember? The fans took to social media as soon as the post came out and shared their (brutally) honest opinion. Ranging from “we did it first” to “First team to get eliminated in the playoffs”, the passionate Yankees faithful said it all.

MLB’s Post Drew A Fan-Comment Flurry 

A notable observation was that in a flurry of comments from the fans of the Yanks, there were some Dodgers supporters who tried to toot. Whether it was the Dodgers or the Yankees who had 10 wins first, the comments are worth a read. One fan did mince words when they said, “Don’t count cause they played a week earlier than everyone else” Another fan made a direct comment on the Dodgers’ possibility of a playoff elimination. “First team to get eliminated in the playoffs”

One fan, among the others emphasized that, “It was literally the Yankees”. Talks of challenging the Dodgers in October came up again. A fan said, “talk to me in October”. While most fans were emotional about the Yankees doing it first, there were a couple of fans that brought in rationale in the game. One comment read, “Yankees are American League not national lol”. 

That’s right. Based on how the season is progressing, both teams show promise. Both teams with 10 wins to their name in their respective leagues have passionate fan bases backing them. With both teams flaunting their new acquisitions, this year the race for supremacy is more than just the ‘Ohtani Effect’ vs. ‘Soto Effect’.
