“Hate the Mets But This is Top Notch”: New York Mets’ Humorous Super Bowl Commercial Leaves Fans in Shock and Awe

All MLB teams are gearing up for the upcoming 2023 season. Meanwhile, the NL’s New York Mets have emerged as one of the top-spending teams this off-season. Having spent over half a billion dollars, the Mets added sixteen players to their rosters. Like the other teams, the Mets are also getting ready to have an even better regular season than last year. But the Metropolitans took this preparation to a new level with their latest move.

To spread awareness and do something out of the box, the Mets have bought a Super Bowl commercial. At the event, which mostly sees advertisements for light beers, pickup trucks, and blockbuster movies, the tri-state viewers will now see the baseball players trying to sell the tickets for their games. Soon as the advertisement made its way to Twitter, fans could not control but shared their unfiltered reactions.

After being known for having a slightly bad reputation as a team, billionaire Steve Cohen is doing everything in his capacity to turn it over. Making an advertisement for the Super Bowl is just one of the many things. The business tycoon has built a mighty roster, and with the help of their Chief Marketing Officer, Andy Goldberg, the team is making a whole new perception about them.

An infomercial that usually takes around a year to produce, the Mets made it happen within a month. Casting the players who were already in or around Florida, the advertisement showed, outfielder Brandon Nimmo racing to answer a phone call. It also showed Francisco Lindor being a touch too nice with a potential buyer and Kodai Senga demonstrating the implications of his “ghost forkball” by video message, with a couple of others dressed up lounging around the water cooler.

Let’s go Mets has been echoing around Twitter after this massive advertisement which is set to be broadcast during the Super Bowl. Given this commercial is about the Mets, some baseball fans will also turn their screen on to watch the upcoming Super Bowl between the Eagles and Chiefs.
