The Athletics are a team that has a rich history and was competitive a couple of seasons ago. But team owner John Fisher hasn?t invested in good players, letting the A?s best talents leave in free agency. According to this latest update, Fisher?s Vegas move may be in jeopardy.

Even the $195 Million should come with guarantees that the A's owners will field a competitive team.
A $20m/year penalty each year are below the MLB League average payroll. Just average. They don't need to be at the top. But Fisher has a LONG history of just pocketing the money.

If I didn't know better I'd think the A's owners' idea of a binding agreement is one they can get out of whenever they happen to change their mind.

Other fans don’t want the Athletics to move at all.
Haha I hope it doesn't happen

Just because you own the team doesn't mean it belongs to you. John Fisher has no respect for baseball tradition, Oakland, or Las Vegas. Thinks everyone is a fool he can get to do his bidding. Sell the team!

@Dodgers Please Dodgers ownership vote no to A's moving to Vegas. We all know it is your territory. We need your help.🙏🙏 Fisher & Kaval cannot be trusted. MLB needs them to force a sale and keep them in Oakland. 💚💛💚💛 https://t.co/PVvESPvNlZ

Despite this roadblock in the deal, it is unlikely to shut down the move to Las Vegas. Fisher will probably find some way or the other to get the money and complete the move. But Athletics fans are unhappy about the move and are protesting, but the MLB has tried to cover it up.
Athletics fans want the team to stay in Oakland and John Fisher out as owner
Since the proposed move to Las Vegas was announced, Athletics fans have been heavily protesting. Inside the stadium, outside the stadium, and during games. Further, there have been calls for John Fisher to sell the team and for a new owner to take over. The A’s fans are desperately trying to keep their beloved team in Oakland. It will be interesting to see how this Las Vegas move progresses in the next weeks and months.
