Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez is one of MLB’s most recognizable faces. The former World Series Champion with the New York Yankees has put together a composite career after his playing days and is now making a splash as an investor in the market. Having secured the bag as a player with some lucrative contracts, A-Rod has now translated that into a successful career as a businessman, too. So much so that A-Rod even appeared on the famous show Shark Tank as one of the investing ‘sharks’. And if his panelist judges are to be believed, he has quite an eye for business.
Shark Tank is a show that gives young start-ups the opportunity to grow. They do this through access to more capital from more successful business owners. One of the ‘Sharks’, Kevin O’Leary, had this to say about having A-Rod on the panel. Heaping high praise upon the athlete for his business sense and how savvy he has been in his commercials, O’Leary appears almost as impressed with A-Rod for his business skills as when he played baseball.

He spoke about how A-Rod, and he had been out to dinner, and he was impressed with how A-Rod spoke about business in the meantime. “The guy is, for an ex-athlete, very savvy on business,” he added, “major real estate, cash flow guy. Cares about free cash-flowing companies the way I do.”
