Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez are the one power-packed duo that is seldom seen in the same frame. Formerly baseball buds met a strange friction in the early 2000s during their heydays with the New York Yankees. Years after their alleged feud, the two have displayed rekindled friendship. One particularly recent instance has a 3rd legend joining hands with the duo. 

The man known as Mr. October is a name associated with the Yankees that can never be blurred. With an incredible MLB career, notably during his tenure with the Oakland Athletics and the New York Yankees, he earned the esteemed title. A moniker that suited well for his stupendous postseason performances in history. The 5x World Series champion now plays a cameo in the Jeter-Rodriguez story. 

Mr. October, Derek Jeter, and Alex Rodriguez Smile Ear to Ear

The ever-so-active Alex Rodriguez posted a story on Instagram of an adorable selfie with the man himself, Reggie Jackson. In Minute Maid Park, legend Reggie stood on one end, with A-Rod on the other and Derek Jeter in the middle, smiling ear to ear. In earlier days, ‘The Captain’ used to generally kid around with Reggie while A-Rod took tips from Mr. October during his run at the Bronx. The three could not have had a better reunion years later, they played their parts with the mega-franchise. Isn’t it a pleasure to see the three legendary players of their time in one frame? 

Reggie Jackson, 77, had the time of his life during in the 1970s. The Yankees No. 44 retired came to be the legend we all know today owing to blasting several crucial home runs. These eventually went on to help the teams capture five World Series championships in the 70s. The trio of the 5X World Series Champion, the 3X MVP and the 1993 Hall of Famer were spectators at the 5-4 Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers game today. That said, one question remains. What changed after the Jeter-Rodriguez tiff? 

An alleged jab powered by jealousy during the (now 49), Jeter’s success from his former teammate the (now) 48-year-old Rodriguez kindled friction between the Bronx Brothers. This happened not once but twice on ESPN Radio and another time in Esquire interview as per ESPN.in. Along with that, an erroneous ball drop due to confusion between them on the diamond against the Baltimore Orioles in 2006 was another cause for a tiff. Nevertheless, those were yesteryears. Today, their renewed friendship is one to adore.

Burying the Hatchet – A Resurrected Jeter-Rodriguez Friendship

Of late, the two are spotted quite frequently on FOX News discussing players, anecdotes, and knowledge nuggets. Looks like this is what being a sportsman does. The two stars stand as epitomes of dissolved egos of the past and renewed present. Not only that, they attend games together, the 2009 World Series Champion’s Instagram stories are proof.

Following the Jackson-Jeter-Rodriguez trio story, Alex posted a few more snaps from the Texas vs. Houston pregame scene. One was with his former contender David Oritz, who is now a fellow panelist in FOX News discussions with Rodriguez. Another couple of them were of Derek and Alex at the Juice Box.
