New York Yankees have had a number of legendary players don the pinstripes over the years. One of the most iconic among those players is none other than Babe Ruth. He was one of the greatest players during his MLB career. Ruth was one of the most dominant hitters baseball has ever seen and was a great pitcher as well.

He hit more than 20 home runs 16 times in his career, doing so in 16 consecutive years. Furthermore, he hit more than 40 home runs in 11 of those seasons. Recently, a statistic that shows how Ruth beat the entire Boston Red Sox team in a particular statistic, has been a topic of discussion among baseball fanatics.

Over a 20-year period, Babe Ruth hit more home runs individually than the Boston Red Sox did as a franchise

Babe Ruth is one of the most dominant power hitters of all time. No doubt about that! But a recently uncovered statistic highlights the enormity of his achievements. A Twitter account called BaseballHistoryNut shared that over a 20-year span, Ruth hit more home runs than the entire Boston Red Sox team. Between 1915 and 1935, he hit 714 homers while the entire Red Sox team hit only 712. To further add to the absurdity of this statistic, 43 of the Red Sox’s home runs were hit by Ruth himself. 

In the Tweet, BaseballHistoryNut said, “From 1915-1935, Babe Ruth had more home runs (714) than the entire Boston Red Sox team (712).  The mind boggling part about this stat, is that 43 of the 712 HRs hit by the Red Sox belong to Babe.” It seems like a statistic that you’d see in a game or a movie. It adds to the mind-boggling things that Ruth achieved in his career.

The amount was reported to be approximately $100,000. The deal was brought on by poor financial management on the part of Frazee. Furthermore, the Red Sox didn’t even get a player in return.
