The reason that his contracts with the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants collapsed was a medical issue. Both teams found massive problems with his lower right leg. But the Twins did not have any such issues and were happy after a physical examination was performed. However, the latest update has revealed shocking news about the star shortstop’s ankle.

A doctor revealed that Carlos Correa’s ankle is in bad shape

Carlos Correa recently signed a 6-year $200 million deal with the Minnesota Twins following a whirlwind free agency. But there seems to be one more twist in the story. Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported that one doctor revealed a shocking update about Correa’s ankle. This doctor stated that the star shortstop’s ankle was one of the worst he’s ever seen.

According to Heyman, “one doctor suggested Correa has the worst ankle he’s seen”. Furthermore, he also stated that Correa was lucky to have gotten $200 million with the Twins. But despite this shocking update, the Twins will probably be prepared for any issues down the road. They are most familiar with Correa’s medical situation, seeing as he suited up for them in 2022.

Although these latest updates point toward Correa having serious leg issues, the star shortstop has other explanations for it. He revealed that the Giants and the Mets used the same doctor. Carlos Correa has not injured his right leg since the Minor Leagues

The Giants and Mets deals collapsed because of an injury that Carlos Correa suffered in his right leg while playing in the Minor Leagues. During his physical examinations with the teams, doctors suggested that there was a high risk of future injury. But Correa has not suffered any injuries in that same area since the Minor Leagues.
