Julio Rodriguez may only have debuted in the 2022 season, but he’s already a household name in MLB. Playing as an outfielder for the Seattle Mariners, J-Rod has become one of the best players on the team’s roster. Right from spring training in 2022, the Mainers were left impressed by his performance on the diamond, which led them to add him to the center field, one of the best decisions the team could have made.

Sure, there were some ups and downs, which led Rodriguez to miss some games. A slow April with some minor injuries may have been unfortunate, but the 22-year-old picked himself right up later on in the season. Already breaking records, Rodriguez is now among those who people will be on the lookout for as a great star. His performance even led to an appearance on the cover of a card game, which made for some interesting interviews.

Julio Rodriguez plays a game of ‘guess the player’

The Mariners outfielder recently appeared on a podcast with Taylor Brooks of Bleacher Report, discussing all things baseball. One of which was Rodriguez making it to the Topps Series One cover, a tremendous achievement. The pack of cards was only made available last week and people are sharing their thoughts.

In a fun segment, Brooks asks Rodriguez about past players who have appeared on baseball cards with some clues. And J-Rod correctly guesses all of them! Hints included lines like “a current player whose dad played in the MLB,” “member of the three thousand hit club,” and “pitched for UCLA, pitched for three different teams.”

Where can fans next see Rodriguez before the 2023 season?

Spring Training for MLB teams is here, and everyone is focused on getting the best out of it. Especially before they have to appear in front of hordes of screaming fans and crowded stadiums. But ahead of that comes Baseball World Classic, which only occurs every four years. The current one is set to take place from March 8-21, 2023, and is being played due to pandemic-induced delays in 2021.

Julio Rodriguez will support his home country of the Dominican Republic, which he considers a huge honor. Latino baseball players have gained steam in the last few decades, and J-Rod doesn’t take that honor lightly. “You’re playing for everything you represent,” he told Brooks in the podcast.
