Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez made an exemplary rise to the top in the sport of baseball. He is one of the most influential athletes worldwide due to his extraordinary performances. In addition, he also has a motivational manner of personal conduct. Back in 2019, ‘A-Rod’ uplifted his then-girlfriend, pop megastar Jennifer Lopez, with a compliment. 

Rodriguez is a 14-time All-Star and one-time World Series champion who famously played MLB for the glamorous New York Yankees. He also played for the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers earlier. He and Lopez began dating back in 2017, starting from a co-incidental meet. After dating for a couple of years, they got engaged. 

‘A-Rod’ has always had a way with words. He is usually quick with words of praise towards people. While he and Lopez were dating, they attended a concert where Lopez got injured while performing on stage. Lopez got accidentally hit on the forehead and began to bleed. Though she completed her performance, she was visibly nervous backstage after the concert.

Speaking to Lopez backstage, Rodriguez said, “I’m so proud of you. Everyone, I mean, I saw a lady. She had to be like 94. She was singing and dancing, and by the end, she started jumping. You don’t see how great you are. That you really have no idea. Maybe this (your injury) threw you off a little bit.”

Lopez then followed up by describing how she felt dizzy amidst her performance. She also revealed that she missed a few things. From her manner of speaking, she was visibly upset over her mistakes. As she admitted to never missing anything in her performances otherwise. 

How did their starry love affair turn out to be? 

Post-engagement in 2019, ‘A-Rod’ and Lopez scheduled their marriage in 2020. However, the plans didn’t come to fruition and after a postponement of the marriage, they eventually broke up in 2021. Lopez soon patched up with her former lover, actor Ben Affleck, and they got married in 2022, whereas, ‘A-Rod’ is still a single father to his two daughters, amid some dating rumors.
