The winter meetings were one roller coaster ride for the New York Yankees, and even more importantly, for their die-hard fans. As a result, following the gradual outcomes of two successful signings in Aaron Judge and Carlos Rodon, the Pinstripes fans were filled with generosity.

After the Yanks signed Rodon, their fans, through Venmo, sent their new ace love and happiness in the form of money. Rodon, who had just signed a whopping $162 million contract for six years, obviously did not need the money and began returning it.

However, sending money back to 400 people and more through Venmo was never going to be an easy task. Moreover, the two-time All-Star’s wife refused to help him out. This left the former Giants pitcher in a big dilemma. Especially considering that he never wanted to keep the money.

While talking about that, Rodon said, “I don’t want any money from fans. There was various fans around the league who sent me money on my Venmo Some Yankees fans started the whole train. It was mostly Yankees fans. I am talking to my wife and my cousin. And I’m like ‘what do I do?’ I need to give this money back. I don’t want this money. So I started with the first guy and I give it back to him.”

Finally, however, Rodon’s cousin came up with an idea to give the money to a young buy from rural Indiana whom they once saw while driving. Rodon narrated that before adding a special thank you to his cousin and all his Yankee fans.
