NFL Superstar Patrick Mahomes Seemingly Seeks Derek Jeter’s Mentorship as Kansas City MLB Ownership Journey Goes Forward

Derek Jeter and Patrick Mahomes were spotted together. Though this duo belonged to different sports, for the NFL legend, MLB fields are like homes. Both the legends share their connection with baseball. Mahomes established himself as an NFL Star but still hasn’t cut his connection with baseball. Probably this connection brought them together.

While most players restrict themselves to their respective sports, at least during their career, a few are exceptions, like Patrick Mahomes. Despite being a player of the Kansas City Chiefs, this 28-year-old NFL legend invested in an MLB team. He is the youngest stakeholder of the Kansas City Royals. Now, his meeting with the former shareholder of Miami Marlins raises much confusion and speculations.

Famous sports figures often share their memories with fans and use suspense to grab attention. However, Captain Clutch is generally an exception to this trend. But his recent Instagram post created a wave of speculation and opinions among fans where the MLB legend shares the frame with the NFL legend. To further draw the suspense, he captioned it, “Great catching up with @patrickmahomes. Stay tuned for full conversation @nflonfox.” This clearly indicates an interview session between the two legends, but the topic is completely hidden.

Since the fans saw the post, they have been speculating on several possibilities, and one of the major among them is that Mahomes approached Jeter for The Royals. The Kansas City Royals suffered a lot through their season. While their Playoff hopes are already gone, fans are speculating Mahomes probably seeking advice from Jeter regarding the ownership. There’s no confirmed news, as these two legends haven’t yet disclosed anything.

The NFL also shared a video on their Twitter handle where fans can have a glimpse of the moments between the two sports icons. But that’s not enough to reveal the main topic of their discussion. The video shows that Jeter referring to a video of the 2x Super Bowl Champion, the MLB icon, giving him a situation where the hand move looks like a shortstop’s. The 28-year-old NFL legend admitted, “These are the throws I am imitating when I am on the football floor.” 

Patrick Mahomes grew up with MLB players around him, and naturally, he imitated their movements.

This NFL legend has a long relationship with baseball and MLB teams. The 2x Super Bowl MVP grew up in MLB clubhouses. From an early age, he got the opportunity to visit the MLB stadiums and witness the legends’ practice. He knew Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and several more Yankees legends before he even thought to be an NFL player.

His love and connection with baseball is intact even after his football success. The legend, in 2020, invested in the Kansas City Royals. He could have invested in any other sports team, but he chose his nostalgia to be a part of his life.
