A New York Yankees debutant recently took a page out of WWE legend John Cena’s book while celebrating his first hit for the team.
The Yankees have been in great form as of late. Perseverance has been key for them as they overcome a bad start to the 2023 regular season. During their most recent win, a debutant channeled his inner John Cena while celebrating his first hit as a Yankee.

The Yankees won their most recent game against the Cincinnati Reds. It was a close contest that went to extra innings, with the Bronx Bombers emerging victorious in the 10th inning. During this game, Catcher Ben Rortvedt made his Yankees debut and had a special celebration for his first hit. He hit a deep left-field double in the 3rd inning to record his first hit in pinstripes. Following the hit, Rortvedt brought out John Cena’s infamous “You Can’t See Me” celebration. Yankees fan, Joe Randazzo, shared a tweet with the celebration for his 14.9k Twitter followers.

In a tweet, he said, “Ben Rortvedt doing the John Cena because we haven’t seen him”. The backup catcher had a great debut for the Bombers. He collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats, showing flashes of good batting skill. It will be interesting to see if he gets more chances to play, with two catchers ahead of him.
