UFC Veteran Carlos Condit Cuts Ties After 12 Successful Years

‘The Natural Born Killer’ Carlos Condit is done with the sport of MMA. After 12 long years with the UFC, Condit has decided to hang up his gloves. Reports suggest that Condit has informed the UFC of his decision and his manager, Malki Kawa of First Round Management, has confirmed this.
During his time with the UFC, ‘The Natural Born Killer’ lived up to his moniker every time he stepped into the ring. Condit was an extremely aggressive fighter who put on entertaining fights. During his tenure with the UFC, he earned 5 fight of the night bonuses and two knockout of the night bonuses. Although Condit never achieved the ultimate goal of being the undisputed world champion in the UFC, he came pretty close when he won the interim welterweight title against Nick Diaz.

Condit was a product of the famous Jackson Wink MMA Academy in Albuquerque which has also produced champions such as Jon Jones and Holly Holm. ‘The Natural Born Killer’ has been a part of the gym since the age of 15.

He made his professional MMA debut in 2002 at a promotion in Mexico. Condit quickly started racking up the wins, which paved the way for him to sign with the WEC. During his time with the WEC, Condit won the welterweight belt and defended it three times. ‘The Natural Born Killer’ signed with the UFC following his third title defense.
Condit’s UFC career did not get off to the best possible start as he succumbed to a loss against Martin Kampmann on his promotional debut. However, after the loss, Condit went on a tear and won his next five fights, which included wins over the likes of Rory MacDonald, Dan Hardy, and Nick Diaz.
