Moments after Chase Elliott won the NASCAR Cup Series title after running an inspired race at Phoenix, he was not able to find the right words to describe his feelings. Elliott said it had not ‘sunk in,’ and urged those asking to pose the question when he sees them at Daytona for the start of the 2021 season.
The 25-year-old star has had just about a month now to reflect on his momentous achievement. However, he admitted it has still not sunk in for him and he does not completely know why.
“I honestly don’t know that it’s really sunk in yet,” Elliott said during a recent interview. Soon after winning the title, Elliott expressed his plans to run different types of races in the off-season, and he is doing exactly that.
