For some, racing is a quintessential part of life. Beyond just going full-throttle with all their might, it’s more of a personal commitment and passion that fuels them to outperform even the best of the best and go past their limits. Carson Hocevar is one such individual who has always managed to go beyond the expected limit. So far, he has had a supreme season, even receiving a career-defining opportunity with Jimmie Johnson in the #42 car.

In his six races in the Legacy Motor Club Chevy, Hocevar has clearly outshined the controversial Noah Gragson with four top-20 finishes out of the six starts. The Truck Series sensation, for the first time in his career, now has a shot at the title, making it to the final four after a successful campaign in Miami, holding off Zane Smith for the win. Recently, the 20-year-old revealed his motivation and inspiration to push beyond the known into the realm of the unknown as part of Johnson’s kind initiative.

Love is one of the strongest emotions, one that can push nations into war, but it can also be used as a motivation, one that can fuel an individual’s aspirations and push beyond the boundaries. The 20-year-old Truck Series racer, Carson Hocevar, is one driver who has channeled this energy for his dear mother.

His LGM team and his manufacturer, Chevrolet, revealed that his motivation is his cancer survivor mother, who inspired him to fight life just like Amy Hocevar fought the disease. The driver said in a short clip, “I drive for my mom; she’s a breast cancer survivor, so big thanks to Chevrolet and Team Chevy to support and push this initiative for all the breast cancer survivors.

The kind initiative is in collaboration with the American Cancer Society. Using the “#WeDriveFor” hashtag, one contributes to the betterment of cancer survivors. Sharing or posting with the same handle will contribute a generous sum of up to $170,000 as support and aid to fight the sickness.
