Jimmie Johnson has had such a career that there’d hardly be any corners in motorsports where he isn’t appreciated or thanked for his achievements and contribution. However, one such lapse did occur recently, but then the culprit, a certain Dale Earnhardt Jr corrected himself.
The thing is, journalist Bob Pockrass had tweeted a picture of driver Ryan Peerce’s race suit hanging out to dry since he’s taking part in all three races this weekend, Truck, Xfinity, and the Cup Series.
“Ryan Preece hung this fire suit he wore last night — and will again today — up to dry after he washed it at home overnight. Triple duty requires extra effort outside the race car,” he wrote.

To this, Dale Jr replied with his suggestion, “Pro tip: leave it soaked for todays race.” But later, he added the source of information of his “pro tip” which was, of course, his former Hendrick Motorsports teammate.
“forgot to credit @JimmieJohnson for the tip,” Earnhardt Jr wrote.

Dale Earnhardt Jr is excited for his pal Jimmie Johnson
In a recent interview, Dale Earnhardt Jr expressed his excitement ahead of Jimmie Johnson, taking part in his maiden INDY500. “I’m just pulling for him to have a great experience in the race and have a result that he can be happy with and smile about in the end,” he said.
“I am full of anxiety that he’s going to push, push, push too hard, and somehow that might put him in a bad situation.”

However, Earnhardt Jr believes his former teammate is “a pro.” “You trust that he knows what he’s out there doing, understanding the limits of the car,” he added.

“Nobody is going to reach out and tell a seven-time champion, with all the success he’s had in his career, what to do, how to drive, how to approach anything.”
