NASCAR fans love nothing more than listening to a podcast with some of the sport’s greats. One such media house that has been at the top for the last 11 years is Dirty Mo Media from fan-favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. While the two-time Daytona 500 winner has his very own podcast, Dale Jr. Download, another one that has become popular over the years is Door Bumper Clear.

With T. J. Majors and Brett Griffin, along with Freddie Kraft at the helm, things looked smooth sailing for the show. The podcast has been on air for the last seven years, bringing the best of the NASCAR world forward. However, recently, the podcast did go through a rough patch filled with changes while Kraft ventured through the same with sheer perseverance.

Kraft has now got two new colleagues for DBC

For years, the Door Bumper Clear podcast has been iconic because of the presence of three names – Freddie Kraft, TJ Majors, and Brett Griffin. Fans have been able to resonate with them the most and their unfiltered conversations made for sublime entertainment. When the show first aired in the year 2016, it was only Griffin and Majors who were on the front foot. However, soon they were joined by Kraft and since then the chemistry between the three was incredible.

It all changed towards the end of 2024 when Griffin announced that he would be departing from the show. His post read, “Thank you, listeners. I’ve had a blast on this journey and my goal was simple – share the knowledge and experiences I’ve had during my career. Let’s laugh and learn as we go and we did just that. Ep 355 was my last. ❤️”. This has also raised worries among the fans, however, little did everyone know that even T.J. Majors was making a shift. With both the original hosts leaving the show, Kraft was under pressure to keep the show alive.

Recently, a post from Kraft made it to the headlines. It shared how he was in a do-or-die situation, especially after his two colleagues left the show. He was under pressure from his employer Dale Earnhardt Jr. who wanted him to make this work, otherwise, the podcast would shut down. Citing the same, he wrote, “Not everyone loves change, and that’s ok. I had the choice to rebuild it, or let it die. I loved the show, and our listeners too much to just let it die. We’re gonna have a lot of fun this year. I hope you join Tommy, Karsyn and I. After all, it’s fun to have fun. 🤙🏻”.

The recent lineup for the show has the cult favorite Freddie Kraft, along with 2002 Daytona 500-winning Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin. That’s not all! It has also got Earnhardt family member, Karsyn Elledge, the daughter of Kelley Earnhardt Miller’s first marriage with Jimmy Elledge. She did make a cameo in 2024, however, the year 2025 is holding a full-time opportunity for the driver.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Dale Earnhardt Jr. push out the original hosts, or is there more to the story?

Have an interesting take?

While much is not known about why the two former colleagues departed, it has got fans questioning the integrity of the show, given there has been no formal acknowledgment of the reason. However, the show is all set to be back in 2025 in a completely new form and the first episode airs on 3rd February.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. might be on the verge of facing disgruntlement from fans

While the new announcement does seem to be promising, fans have now become used to the iconic trio of Kraft, Majors, and Griffin. One of the most important reasons why fans could connect with the hosts is because of the open nature of the discussion that they had. However, now that the Majors and Griffin have chosen to leave the doors, it has raised speculations about whether the media house sidelined them. While the chemistry between Kraft, Baldwin, and Elledge looked smooth in the snippet posted on X, fans have their doubts.

Given that Brad Keselowski’s spotter TJ Majors and veteran spotter Brett Griffin were the ones who had initially kick-started the podcast, their absence from the podcast has been alarming. Even a fan took to the post and commented harping on the same sentiment. The comment read, “If Brett and TJ wanted to move on that’d be one thing but it seems like they got pushed out and no one wants to say why”. However, till now not much is known about what is the real reason behind this shift.
