Witnessing our favorite drivers take up different roles has always been an endearing experience. Remember the time when Dale Earnhardt Jr. showcased his interior designer skills and teamed up with ever talented wife Amy Earnhardt? Amy has been quite a popular and talented one among the NASCAR wives. While she is currently popular for her podcast endeavors, her passion for interior design is also quite well known. 

It was quite a few years back, precisely in 2018, that she had embarked on the designing spree. The idea was to renovate a 150-year-old historic home, all the way in Florida, Key West. The show turned out to be a massive hit, but here’s what Amy had to share about the unseen details of the show. 

Amy and Dale Earnhardt Jr. showcased a wonderful camaraderie 

DIY’s Network put forth the idea of Renovation Realities: Dale Jr. and Amy Earnhardt and it has sparked the inner designer in Amy. The property was a coastal retreat, and the condition was dilapidated when Earnhardts first spotted it. Such was the condition that Dale Jr. even accorded it as the “cat sanctuary”. The idea was to restore the house from this condition and give it a makeover based on Amy’s creative ideas. However, this was also the time when she realized that she was pregnant with her first kid, quite early. 

The show was endearing as Amy and Dale Jr. got to the details of interior designing and rebuilt the property from scratch. Speaking of the hardships that they ensured through the show, Amy said, ” I was newly pregnant when we started the build, and I was so early on that I couldn’t tell anybody. But I was nauseous—so nauseous—and it was so hot. It was incredibly hot. Dale was drenched in sweat every day because we were physically doing the work. We had bought that house right next door to our actual vacation home. The lady who owned it needed to get rid of it. She had inherited the house and didn’t want it, so Dale bought it and let it sit for a while. We cleaned it up, and then we got the opportunity to do the show.”

The series was a four-part venture where Amy and Dale worked on the neglected property from scratch. Right from digging to faulty plumbing and whitewashing century-old – bricks to structuring the layout, the couple and their team were involved throughout. They opened up the main level, crafting a spacious area perfect for entertaining, and reconfigured the two-story floorplan to include a guest bedroom and two additional bathrooms.

The backyard was turned into a tropical paradise. It now boasts an outdoor kitchen, a cozy dining area, and a luxurious pool and hot tub, making it an idyllic escape. Each detail of the renovation showcased their vision and hands-on dedication, blending practicality with style to bring the home back to life. Although Amy was pregnant through the shoot and reality television brings in challenges, the couple managed to give the property a stunning makeover, making it the perfect vacation option.

Kenny Wallace shares his verdict on Amy Earnhardt’s screen presence

Not only Dale Earnhardt Jr., but it seems as though even his wife has some amazing oratory skills. Recently, NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace was seen in a conversation with Amy Earnhardt and not only did they talk about her TV stint, they walked through various phases of their life. This was the No.88 episode of the series and Wallace was ecstatic as he shared a thank you note for Earnhardt Jr’s wife.

Wallace took to his X account and posted, “The @Kenny_Wallace Conversation with @AmyEarnhardt  is already over 50,000 YouTube views & is crushing it on @DirtyMoMediaPodcast! Learn how she won a national championship as a high school cheerleader in Texas!”. As the episode progressed, Amy spoke about one of her most loved achievements.

She said, “How hard was that? It was hard. We had, we had had children competitions. The team had competed for years that our freshman year, we won second or third. And then my sophomore year, we won second…We had one team that did everything. So we were busy and we worked very hard and we wanted to win so bad. They had white satin jackets. Of course, you get a big trophy, but all the girls got this jacket and it was like this thing you really wanted to have”. 

Both Amy and her husband, Dale Earnhardt Jr. are quite involved as social media personalities. They are also known to take up philanthropic activities and the most well-known endeavor is The Dale and Amy Earnhardt Fund, which takes care of pediatric rehabilitation.
