This past week, the burning topic on everyone’s lips is the penalties and appeals. It all started with Hendrick Motorsports getting punished for unsanctioned modifications and getting strict penalties. Later on, there was an incident where Denny Hamlin tagged old rival Ross Chastain rival into a spin. He then shot himself in the foot by openly admitting it on his podcast.

Now, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver has spoken up about his $50,000 penalty and the rejected appeal.

“I am worried for the future of our sport. The last thing we want is our drivers timid, not only on the race track but off the race track.”

“I thought, for the last two hours of this hearing, they conceded that they had lost the first two points. That all they’re going for, is Actions Detrimental.”

“There was a key point where I think one of the panelists was asking me, ‘What result do you want? Do you want all or nothing?’.”

‘I wanted it all reversed.”
