Kyle Busch’s son is off to a stellar start in his racing career at only 9 years old. Only recently, Brexton Busch beat his father to back-to-back wins at the Florida Microfun Fest. But with a lot to still learn, there couldn’t be a better role model for Brexton on his racing journey than his father. So when the time came to teach the budding racer how to handle pressure from the opposition, the RCR star showed his son just how, but in a way that some would joke wasn’t very “role model” of him.

‘Rowdy’ Busch runs in the family

It’s no secret that NASCAR is one of the top motorsport categories to witness bumper-to-bumper action. And through the years, the action has also resulted in equally heated brawls in the pit lane. So when Kyle Busch was asked during an interview with FrontStretch about the advice he gives to Brexton Busch during such heated moments, the answer was just what many have come to expect from Rowdy Busch.

He shared, “I just (tell him to) calm down, take a breath and think about it for a second there but trust me, there have been a couple of times last year we were at a race track and he got wrecked by the same kid three times, three days in a row. And I was like, ‘Okay, you have permission to go kick his a*s because if you don’t do it, I’m gonna go do it.’ and the kid’s 9 years old, so I know I can’t go do it.”

However, the Bush family took a milder approach to the inconvenience. Busch stated, “We went over there and talked to him though, we were like Alright. Enough is enough, one more time and the gloves are off. actually, the gloves are off now but we’re forewarning you. If you get close, it’s gonna happen.”

Fortunately, the actual way Busch handled the situation proved he indeed is the perfect role model for Brexton. After all, this is only the beginning when it comes to challenges that the 9-year-old is bound to face on the way to the higher categories.

While such incidents would scare any parent, Busch knows it’s inevitable since the decorated last name makes Brexton a target. He concluded, “He already has a bit of a bullseye but that happens. It will only make him tougher.”

With Kyle Busch helping Brexton Busch at every turn of his racing career so far, it’s safe to say the 9-year-old has made quite the name for himself. And it looks like major sponsors are also taking notice of his Jr Sprint car success, with one such giant announcing their partnership extension with Brexton Busch for the foreseeable future.

“This is a partnership that has exceeded our expectations every year, and we couldn’t be more excited to extend it for another three years,” John Sooker, President and Chief Operating Officer for SERVPRO shared in a press release. “It has been a pleasure watching Brexton grow and improve his racing skills, watching him become a bona fide racer, and seeing him become a great big brother. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

With SERVPRO extending their sponsorship to a multi-year deal, it only solidifies Brexton Busch’s journey toward becoming an established NASCAR driver, much like his father. While the journey is still long, Brexton was delighted to have the sponsor onboard for the future. He stated, “We get to grow together. They believe in me, and I believe we can get them many more trips to Victory Lane. I couldn’t do it without the SERVPRO team and all their associates!”
