NASCAR Playoffs have been quite different this season, with more new winners emerging to the scene. Although Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick, two of the most frequent playoff contenders are out. The picture still seems quite fascinating and Chad Knaus has some things to say about the playoffs.

Something about some ninjas.

In a recent episode of the MRN Crew Call podcast, by FloRacing, the seven-time cup series champion, Jimmie Johnson‘s iconic crew chief, came on to talk about this year’s playoff. In fact, he feels that the first three rounds of the playoffs were more interesting because drivers were out to get each other like “ninjas”.

He said, “It’s like there’s a bunch of ninjas out there, just hiding in the weeds, waiting to take out people in the first three races. Whether that was on the pit road or the racetrack, like, you just never know what’s gonna happen.”

The legendary crew chief could be talking about the drivers trying to reduce as many threats in their way as possible. Maybe what happened between Ross Chastain and Kevin Harvick could be one. Because the watermelon man sure did apologize and admit his mistake. Yet, Harvick is out of the payoffs. However, we wouldn’t know what really happened.

Fortunately, though, all the HMS cars are heading to the round of 12.

Chad Knaus is happy with the playoff picture

The Hendrick Vice President of Competition sure is happy. Their team is well within playoff contention, and they are on a great run!

Of course, he sure is quite glad that the Hendrick Motorsports cars have made their way into the playoffs. Knaus spoke about how grateful he is to the team, “We’re so fortunate to have all four of our cars transfer over to the next round of the playoffs. It’s great for HMS, it’s great for our partners. Obviously, we’ve got tremendous drivers and good pit crew.”

And he sure is thrilled for the playoffs! “We’re so fortunate to have crew chiefs that manage their teams and guide their team. Really, all I do is try to facilitate whatever they need.”
