“He’s Two-Faced’ – Kyle Busch Hates “A**hole Switch” Flipping Joey Logano for the Same Reason NASCAR President Loves Him

Joey Logano has definitely established himself as a successful NASCAR driver over the years. Moreover, the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series champion created history with his 2009 Lennox Industrials Tools win, becoming the youngest Cup Series winner. But it seems that his accomplishments are not enough for everyone to like him. Especially Kyle Busch.

NASCAR President Steve Phelps had earlier made it clear that he is a Logano fan. However, the primary reason that Phelps explained he liked Logano, turned out to be the exact reason why Rowdy Busch hates him. When Kyle Busch appeared on an episode of the ‘I Am Athlete’ podcast, he said that he hated Logano because he has ‘that switch.’

During the episode, Busch explained; “The problem with Joey is he’s two-faced. So people know I’m an ass****. So I might be an ass**** on the race track, which I’m really not, but Logano, he’ll come in here and he’s laughy and go lucky, go with the flow, like (the) super-nice guy, all this stuff. Does great for charity, everything like that.”

However, he continued; “(But) when you put him on the racetrack, he flips the ass**** switch on the back of his head. And to me, I hate two-faced guys. That drives me absolutely nuts. Like if you’re going to be a nice guy, be a nice guy on the race track as well. That fries me.”

The switch that Busch talked about during the episode is actually the reason why Phelps like Logano. In another episode of the same podcast, Phelps talked about his favorite thing about Logano.

Why Steve Phelps would disagree with Kyle Busch on ‘the switch?’

About a year ago in October 2021, NASCAR president Steve Phelps opened up on why he likes Joey Logano. In another ‘I Am Athlete-NASCAR’ podcast, Phelps said that he thinks Joey Logano is an equivalent of Emmitt Smith. He explained that although he has never met Emmitt Smith, he thinks that Smith is someone who cares about the sport.

Furthermore, he revealed that he thinks Logano is the same. He said; “Joey Logano cares about this sport. I’d say Joey’s a little more — when he’s out of the car, phenomenal guy. Smart. Cares about the sport. When he’s in the car, he doesn’t give a s**t. He has that switch.”

Moreover, Phelps reiterated his point by saying that Logano doesn’t care about what people think. He said that when he gets in the arena, he doesn’t care about who someone is. The only thing he focuses on is taking that person out and winning the race.
