The bigwigs of the CARS Tour, including Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, and Justin Marks, have hinted that the upcoming race calendar won’t be just another run-of-the-mill affair. The anticipated series, in 2024, is set to kick off on March 2nd, with North Wilkesboro Speedway gearing up to host three adrenaline-fueled races. Orange County, once left in the rearview mirror, is revving its way back into the lineup. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg; the team has a slew of other changes up their sleeve for the forthcoming seasons.

Jeff Burton recently shared some insights into the future of Late-model racing in the CARS tour. Keeping the details close to his chest, he hinted that the team is eyeing a few more vibrant tracks to add to their repertoire. It seems like they’re getting ready to shift the racing experience into a higher gear.

In a recent chat, Jeff Burton teased future plans without spilling any specifics. When asked about potential new tracks for their schedule, he said, “Yeah, I’m not going to mention any names, but there’s certainly some ideas that we have that, you know, would look for that. We’re not gonna do everything in one year and there’s certainly some ideas we have that we think the main series that much better for those Late-model stocks. We need healthy race tracks.”

He continued, “I had some great fortune to spend some time with Dale Jr fishing. Spent many days in the back of the fishing boat. One of the things that he told me was that, he said you have to have tires, you have to have racetracks, you have to have owners. If you don’t have those new things, you can’t have races. And we have to have racetracks to race on. We need healthy short tracks and anyway, we can help do that if we need to.”

Over at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the CARS Tour team made some headlines. They’re gearing up for the 2024 season with zMAX taking the lead as the new main sponsor. The excitement didn’t end there – they unveiled the 2024 zMAX CARS Tour calendar and announced FloRacing is back at the helm as the official streaming partner for all 19 events. For the second consecutive year, every high-octane moment of the zMAX CARS Tour will be broadcast live on FloRacing.

Reacting to the schedule shake-up, Dale Earnhardt Jr shared his enthusiasm, “There is a lot to unpack and a lot to be excited about this season – two trips to North Wilkesboro and adding Orange County to the schedule. It’s going to be tough competition for the drivers and a great show for our fans in the stands, and for those watching on FloRacing. Our partnership with FloRacing has helped tremendously in building exposure and excitement around the zMAX CARS Tour. I’m looking forward to continuing that.”

But what spurred this significant shift after just a year at the helm? Dale Earnhardt Jr and Kevin Harvick recently reflected on their inaugural year steering the CARS Tour, sharing insights into their decision-making process.

On Junior’s podcast, the duo delved into the various challenges they encountered while running the series. Junior candidly admitted that although he had owned a car before, he hadn’t really scrutinized the financial side of things. He initially had a ‘race at any cost’ mindset but soon realized the financial intricacies not just of ownership, but of the series itself. A year into their journey, they began to grasp the “delicate numbers of the series”, along with other factors crucial for its overall enhancement.

Harvick chimed in, shedding light on his own eye-opening experiences. He confessed, “I had no idea before we got involved in all this, like what the options were for engines, what the tire compound was, how much it costs to race. And you know, you listen to some of the team owners and the things that they bring up, it’s just the simple things. I think the simple approach we have brought to it, just trying to take something that was already great and make it better.”

Controversies, gossip, and breakneck speeds? Count me in! While F1 has its charm, NASCAR helps me relive those "Roadrash" gaming days. My favorite among the drivers has to be Tyler Reddick. The 23XI Racing pilot is not only likable but also a complete beast when he is on track, more specifically, road courses.
