Several former drivers at Joe Gibbs Racing, including Kyle Busch, have hit some rough patches with sponsorship deals, sometimes even leading to their exit. But on the flip side, a few have sailed smoothly, thanks to loyal sponsors sticking by them through thick and thin. Take Christopher Bell, for instance. Since his Xfinity Series days back in 2018, Rheem Racing has been his steadfast supporter. They even backed him during his first Cup Series victory at the Daytona Road Course in 2021.

And now, with news floating around about Rheem Racing’s return in 2024, it looks like Joe Gibbs Racing is having a bit of fun by keeping their fans guessing.

JGR recently shared a teaser on Instagram, showing the No. 20 car. The caption was a call to action: “Set your alarm ⏰ Joe Gibbs Racing unveil alert! @cbellracing’s all-new @rheemracing Toyota Camry TRD will be revealed on Wednesday at 3 pm ET! While we’re not showing you the scheme just yet, we can tell you the #RheemRacing machine will hit the NASCAR track at Phoenix Raceway on 3/10/24.”

It looks like they’re drumming up excitement for Christopher Bell’s fans eager to see the fresh paint scheme for the JGR driver. Bell isn’t just any driver for Rheem; he’s the longest-standing driver they’ve sponsored. This enduring partnership likely owes much to the solid bond between the driver and his sponsors, plus Bell’s smashing performance in 2023.

Not only did he make it to the Championship 4 round two years in a row, but he also bagged five of his six career Cup wins in the last two seasons. Despite a heartbreaker at the 2023 Championship 4 event at Phoenix, where a brake rotor issue led to an early exit, finishing 36th, Bell’s shown he’s not someone to be taken lightly on the track.

Not to mention, Rheem is the top dog in North America when it comes to making water heaters. They’re not just any sponsor; they’re industry front-runners in getting people involved. Over their 16-year stint in NASCAR, they’ve rolled out the red carpet for about 40k guests at various events, showing they know how to make a splash in the racing world.

And with the kind of momentum Bell’s been riding, seeing him back in Phoenix in 2024 for a third shot at the championship wouldn’t be a shocker. This optimism isn’t just felt by the fans; it’s echoed by his sponsors. Rheem Racing is doubling down on their support, and other sponsors are lining up too, showing they believe in the No. 20 driver’s potential.

Controversies, gossip, and breakneck speeds? Count me in! While F1 has its charm, NASCAR helps me relive those "Roadrash" gaming days. My favorite among the drivers has to be Tyler Reddick. The 23XI Racing pilot is not only likable but also a complete beast when he is on track, more specifically, road courses.
