Kimi Raikkonen entering the NASCAR Cup Series at Watkins Glen was a pretty new and exciting thing for the fans. And just like everyone else, Kyle Busch too was curious about his performance. Despite having a bit of history with the Finnish F1 driver, he couldn’t really get in touch with him.

Although, Busch said that he will only look into Kimi’s performance if Larson will do the same.

In an interview, Busch was asked, “Will you look at Kimi’s data at all or is there anything you might be able to learn from how he might drive a road course?”

Surprisingly, the two-time Cup Series champ was not too interested. But, he also confessed that his decision will change if Hendrick Motorsports’ star driver, Kyle Larson, wants to see the data.

“I don’t think so. I guarantee you that if you take the whole 40-car field and dissect all the data, I think you’ll find about 10 percent discrepancy between everybody, there’s not much. I don’t think he’s going to be a vast amount different.’

“He’s not going to be able to brake at 200 versus the rest of us at 400, that’s just car capable. Not driver capable. I don’t think there’s going to be much difference there, but I’ll look. If (Kyle) Larson’s going to look, I might as well look.”

It’s fascinating that Larson has a role in Busch’s decision-making process. Does this say something that we don’t quite understand yet? Let us know in the comments.

Although, there is one interesting thing that came up during the interview. Even though Busch and Raikkonen have been associated with each other in the past, they never properly talked!

Kyle Busch And Kimi Raikkonen Never Talked To Each other

Raikkonen ran a truck series race and an Xfinity race for Kyle Busch Motorsports back in 2010. Despite that, the two never properly talked to each other or even exchanged numbers!

Busch revealed that the duo never got to exchanging numbers. In fact, most of their conversation was through the agency that got Raikkonen in a KBM truck.

Fortunately, he does plan to change it now, especially thanking Project 91 and Justin Marks, and saying that he’s proud of their efforts. He said “real proud of the efforts of Justin (Marks) and those guys over there on the Project 91 thing.”

Of course, thanks to Trackhouse Racing, we got to see Kimi in a Cup Series car. And he sure performed really well. Unfortunately, a wreck took the driver out, but he proved himself to be quite the stock car driver. So, would you wanna see him in more NASCAR races?
