“We are beyond proud of you.” This was the reaction of Kyle Busch’s wife Samantha when their son Brexton won the prestigious Golden Driller Trophy. The victory left Samantha beaming with pride, and she expressed her admiration for Brexton’s dedication. Notably, the nine-year-old won the trophy in the Junior Sprint division at the Tulsa Shootout 2025.

Driving the No. 18B car for Kyle Busch Motorsports, Brexton demonstrated why he’s considered a motorsport prodigy. While his on-track dominance earned him accolades, it was his mother’s playful jab at him that stole the spotlight days later. In a recent social media post, Samantha slammed Brexton for his poor ‘reaction.’

Samantha Busch’s Playful Jab at Her Racing Prodigy

Brexton Busch’s 2025 Tulsa Shootout was nothing short of redemption. In the previous edition of the prestigious tournament, he had finished fifth in the finals. After the setback, the young lad worked with his father and crew chief to win more than 40 races in 2024. His successful run continued in Tulsa when he won the prestigious trophy by leading all 20 laps. However, while the win brought immense pride, it also allowed Samantha to share a humorous take on her son’s personality.

Recently in an Instagram Reel Samantha shared her message to Brexton after victory. She wrote, “I am so proud of you! Watching you work so hard, stay disciplined, and commit yourself to your goals fills my heart. Keep being the amazing person you are. I love you – Mom.” True to his easy-going nature, Brexton responded with a simple thumbs-up emoji and followed it with a question that made Samantha chuckle: “What’s for dinner?” Sharing the exchange on her Instagram story, Samantha quips, “I get excited when it’s more than just an emoji answer.”

Samantha’s social media post was reminiscent of her supportive presence in young Brexton’s life. Just a few weeks ago, when Brexton tried out in karting and failed on his first attempt, it was his mom’s advice and support that guided him through the situation. Just a few hours later and he was already improving, making up four places in his second kart race. That’s not all.

Notably, the Busch household frequently sees fun exchanges between Samantha and Brexton. Recently, the duo shared an Instagram reel where Brexton flaunted a new haircut he got with his dad. Samantha couldn’t help but tease him, asking, “Getting that haircut for a special someone?” Brexton playfully replies, “You,” earning a big hug from his mom. Samantha adds with a smile, “I’m not ready for you to have a girlfriend.”

This hilarious banter between the mother and son duo keeps Brexton’s childhood alive. Despite being one of the rising race car drivers, the Kyle Busch family emphasizes the importance of childhood experiences alongside the intense discipline required in motorsports. Recently, NASCAR legend Kenny Wallace praised their approach. “They’re allowing him to be a kid outside of the car—hanging out with friends, playing—but inside the car, they’re teaching him critical skills like geometry and strategy,” Wallace explains.

Is Brexton's success more about talent or the Busch family's racing legacy?
