Of all the stories and incidents we’ve seen so far this season in NASCAR, the minor tone, the on-and-off feud between Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott has to be something that ranks in the top five of such a list.

So it’s no wonder that the feud, albeit in a sarcastic tone, was referenced in a round table of some of the biggest names in modern-day NASCAR, sitting alongside each other, pulling each other’s legs and reminiscing the time when all of them came through the ranks in more or less the same year.

Anyway, in the first episode of the NASCAR Next Now, the one notable absentee was Chase Elliott as the host pointed out to, Elliott’s pal, Ryan Blaney assured her that he’ll “talk to him about it later.”

And as soon as Blaney said this, Bubba Wallace added, “You’re gonna have to wait till (Kyle) Larson talks to him.” For obvious reasons, this erupted a burst of big laughter in the room as Larson sat there, with a big grin on his face, nodding.

But it wasn’t over yet.

Because it was Corey LaJoie who took one last shot – “I heard that’s why Chase (Elliott) didn’t show up tonight.”

But something similar happened once again a few months later in Watkins Glen.

Yet despite these two incidents, Hendrick Motorsports stepped in and took charge of the situation, instilling a sense of calm and peace between the two-star teammates on both occasions.
