Balancing a packed NASCAR schedule while being a hands-on father isn’t easy, but Kyle Larson somehow makes it look effortless. And with both Owen and Audrey clearly catching the racing bug, it feels like the racing gene is alive and well. Ten-year-old Owen is already deep into the racing grind, and his off-season is turning out to be a lot busier than most kids his age.

What makes it even sweeter is where he’s racing. For ‘Yung Money’, watching his son add a very personal stop on his racing calendar hits different. Owen is now turning laps at the same track where Kyle Larson spent his own childhood, creating this little full-circle moment that means more to the Larson family than any trophy could.

Owen Larson preps for a Red Bluff Speedway run
Speaking on the NASCAR Live podcast, Larson laid out Owen and Audery’s racing calendar. He said, “Yeah, yeah, we’ll be at the Chili Bowl again; it would be great to get number 4. Owen and Audrey, they’ll do a little race, and they’ll get to go to Red Bluff in December. Audrey’s never raced at Red Bluff, so that’s the track that I bring my first ever race at, so it’s cool that they always get to go back there. But Owen run his 250 there, which will be intense for him. I’m sure he’ll be hanging on for dear life.”
For those who know Kyle Larson well, Red Bluff Speedway in California is what made the reigning Cup Series champ who he is today. At just seven years old, he made his debut in 1999, competing in the Red Bluff Winter Indoor Series. Despite missing the opening three races of the 12-event points season, he quickly proved his ability, working his way up the standings and securing seventh place overall.
Even as one of the younger and less experienced drivers in the field, Larson’s natural speed and racecraft stood out. He closed out his rookie season at Cycleland with an impressive third-place finish in the championship standings. And when he returned to the Red Bluff Winter Indoor Series for a second season, the Elk Grove native had adapted quickly, earning Rookie of the Year honors for the division and finishing eighth out of 10 points races.

And now watching his children make their debut is definitely a full-circle moment for the 33-year-old. And this also adds a little bit of pressure on Owen Larson. The 10-year-old has quickly carved out his own identity in the racing world, and 2025 has been one of his strongest years yet. Owen Larson turned heads at the 2025 Tulsa Shootout, storming from 8th to 1st to win his junior sprint heat race, a moment that immediately went viral among dirt track fans.

He then backed up that performance with a solid sixth-place finish in the junior Sprint A-Main, an impressive result for his debut at one of the toughest micro sprint events in the country. With the Hendrick Motorsports driver probably watching from the infield, the younger Larson showed not just raw speed but a natural racecraft that’s already making him one of the most talked about young prospects on the dirt circuit this season. And the upcoming race will definitely be more personal for the Larson family.
That being said, the 33-year-old driver is set for a very busy off-season himself. He added, “But then, yeah, I got some USAC racing coming up this weekend and then in a couple weeks to do high limits in Australia at Perth. And then, yeah, the kids with have the shootout, and I’m gonna try to get back in time to run whatever I can. I’m sure I’ll miss, you know, I won’t be able to run all the divisions, but hopefully, hopefully I’ll get there in time around at least one or two. Yeah, Chili Bowl. So yeah, a little bit less than years past, but still enough to kind of, you know, get my fix in.”
There’s no rest for the Larson family this winter break. And while Owen and Audrey were seen celebrating in victory lane at Phoenix 2 weeks ago, Larson knows the difference between the two as racing drivers.

Kyle Larson reveals the faster racer between his children
Being the kids of one of this generation’s greatest racecar drivers, it’s hardly shocking that the two have already jumped into the world of motorsport. During the recent appearance on the Stacking Pennies podcast, Kyle Larson was asked the ultimate family garage question: which one is quicker right now?
The Hendrick Motorsport driver didn’t hesitate. He admitted, “I would say Audrey has got more natural ability than Owen. She’s got more competitive drive than he has,” but that doesn’t take anything from Owen’s steady climb. Larson went on to praise the dedication his son has shown lately, adding, “He has seen the benefits of working hard. So, now he’s been, you know, on his iRacing all the time and watching videos of racetracks he’s got coming up. So, it’s cool.” The 10-year-old has begun stacking up wins, a clear sign that his effort is paying off.

Moreover, Audery Larson grabbed her first-ever win in September this year at Millbridge Speedway in North Carolina. She won in the cadet division, which is the entry-level outlaw kart class. Besides racing, Audrey is branching out, as Kyle Larson revealed she has started playing ice hockey, too. The seven-year-old is set to run 30 races this year. Seems like a busy few months for the Larson family.
