Now, Jimmie Johnson’s not exactly what you’d call old at 48, but he’s taken a bit of a step back from racing full-time, moving into team ownership with LMC. It’s a big change. He’s decided to triple his time on the track, with Daytona and Phoenix being just a couple of the big races he’s planning to light up. And the way his team announced it? Total Jimmie Johnson style. He put out this super creative video on the team’s social media, mapping out his 2024 plans one exciting pit stop at a time.

Jimmie Johnson’s 2024 itinerary in the most creative way

Legacy Motor Club took to Twitter with a throwback change, dropping a video teaser captioned “2024 👀,” cleverly weaving together vintage clips to map out Jimmie Johnson’s race destinations for the year. Well, originally, Jimmie Johnson planned to race at six Cup showdowns, but whispers in the racing lanes hint at an expanding lineup. Johnson let his fans know towards January’s end that he’s gearing up for three extra sprints in his Carvana-clad #84 Toyota.

On the docket are the legendary Daytona 500, a sentimental spin around Indianapolis at the Brickyard 400, and a curtain call at Phoenix Raceway to tie off the season. Before the tidbit, Jimmie Johnson was slated to burn rubber at Texas, take on the Coca-Cola 600, tackle Dover, and make appearances in both the regular and playoff bouts in Kansas and Las Vegas, with Dollar Tree and Family Dollar adding some flair to his ride. Johnson’s truly no stranger to Daytona’s victory lane, having taken the trophy home in 2006 and again in 2013.

However, the only difference this year would be that the circuit sees Johnson’s wheels donning a nod to Richard Petty‘s 1964 Plymouth glory, bathed in royal blue with Carvana’s signature splashed in stark white across the sides. The design, a collaboration between Johnson and Carvana, tips its hat to Petty’s storied past, mirroring the classic chrome accents and elegant script. Adorned with the “Petty 75” insignia, Johnson’s Camry XSE will showcase its engine’s might, a tribute to the golden days of racing.
