Any driver competing in NASCAR understands how detrimental it can be if the rules are constantly misinterpreted. The rules were there in the first place to ensure stability and fairness while competing for glory. However, at times, we have noticed governing bodies of motorsports shake up the rule book on the fly. The last weekend’s race at the Circuit of The Americas was arguably no different for one Team Penske driver.

After being handed out a penalty for apparently cutting a corner, the driver became furious and went on the radio to yell at NASCAR for their inconsistencies with the rulebook.

The racer in question was none other than 2022 Cup Series champion, Joey Logano.

Over a dramatic weekend at the Circuit of The Americas, Joey Logano had a challenging race. He started in 15th place and ultimately finished 28th. Definitely not the best of days for the defending champion. However, Logano did spend much of the race in the top half, before eventually late-race complications arose.

Somewhere during the race, he received a drive-through penalty. However, he managed to bounce back to a decent finish by the end of the race.

Furthermore, a smart pit strategy enabled Logano to rejoin the top 10 by the 24th lap. The Penske driver ended up securing an 11th-place result in Stage 2. Advancing to second place by lap 41, he later maintained a ninth-place position when a caution flag appeared with only four laps left.

Ultimately, it was a spin that derailed Logano in the final stage. As per FoxSports.com, he ended up finishing the race in 28th place, a spot ahead of F1 champion Kimi Räikkönen.
