It has certainly not been the easiest of starts for Bubba Wallace with his new team, 23XI Racing. Battling against premier organizations, the newly founded outfit will take its time to settle in and look to grow step by step.

In its inception season in the NASCAR Cup Series, 23XI Racing has had only four rounds of racing so far. But as yet, even a Top-10 finish has currently remained out of their reckoning.

However, their driving representative, Wallace, remains quietly optimistic over achieving success with the team. But at the same time, the 27-year-old believes the immediate target is to be able to get into the ‘rhythm’ first.

Hopefully people see me as the guy who never gave up when I retire, said Bubba Wallace

He stated, “I think with everything that’s going on off the track, it’s time for some on-track success, so being able to get into the rhythm [and] getting our feet wet [with] everybody at 23XI [is my goal]. The success is gonna come. You just have to be patient.”

It most admittedly is a huge learning curve for Wallace and co. given that they would have to find their feet on the path to becoming an established NASCAR team. But he is not one to back down from challenges, which is why Wallace has reaffirmed his commitment to attempt to ‘come out on top’.

“Hopefully, [when I retire] they see me as the guy who never gave up no matter what obstacle was in front. I’ve always tried to break through it and come out on top and be the better man.”

The 2021 season represents his fourth full-time season in the Cup Series. Hence, all the experience he has gained so far will only prove handy as he enters the prime years of his racing career.

Wallace has done quite a few things right during the races but somehow failed to produce cutting-edge consistency in the latter phases of it. From that perspective, the races at Phoenix, Atlanta, and Bristol offer him an opportunity to make his employers proud.

Thus, the road ahead for Wallace will continue to have a lot of challenges and hurdles. But his talent and attitude are his key strengths, and they will positively aid him in the journey to come.
