Dale Earnhardt Jr. has one of the most successful NASCAR podcasts today. The Dale Jr. Download is listened to by fans and insiders on a regular basis to gain insight into the sport. Often on his show, Junior raises quite a few valid points which resonate with his followers. On a recent episode of his show, he spoke about NASCAR’s growth in an era that has seen viewership on a steady decline. The episode was well received by fans and experts as many believe that Junior has given a solution to perhaps NASCAR’s biggest problem.
NASCAR has had a viewership problem for years now and it has been evident in the 2023 season as well. The recent playoff race at the Homestead-Miami Speedway saw a drop of 2.64% from last season’s numbers. While it is only a small percentage, this issue has reared its head in almost every single race of the 2023 playoffs so far.

Insider celebrates Dale Earnhardt Jr’s vision after poor playoff numbers
The number of viewers for the Las Vegas race was 2.194 million, a 16% decrease from 2.619 million the previous year. Although fans have always been captivated by the Roval Race, 2.28 million people watched the event on television in 2023. This represents a 4.6% decrease from the 2.39 million viewers of the event in 2022.
The organizers were taken aback by Talladega’s 11.4% decline from the previous year’s event. In 2022, there were 2.827 million viewers, compared to 2.505 million in 2023. It was unforeseen as 4.554 million people watched the superspeedway’s regular-season race.
Amidst all the chaos, the latest episode of The Dale Jr. Download podcast spoke at length about NASCAR’s viewership problem. Junior made a lot of valid points. Who holds the responsibility to make the sport popular even outside the States? What should the organization do to grab more eyeballs? What are the teams’ duties in that regard?
All of these questions were answered and prominent NASCAR journalist Jeff Gluck was impressed with the former Cup Series driver’s analogies. Gluck is one of the most respected NASCAR journalists in the world today, so his words will hold a lot of weight.

It was not just Jeff Gluck who resonated with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s latest podcast episode. A number of fans praised the former Cup Series driver for raising the right issues and talking about them at length. Fans flocked under Gluck’s tweet to hail Junior.

Junior’s podcast has often been praised by fans for having the best inside NASCAR content today. These opinions came to the forefront after what the 49-year-old can consider to be a highly successful episode.
“Loved it as well,” one fan wrote.
“It was awesome. Very educational. Made me think of the days I would drive by a Lowe’s to get to Home Depot because of Tony Stewart. Those days of brand loyalty are gone. Trackhouse may have the formula going forward,” quipped another.

“I want more “Inside NASCAR” content, I love it when they dive off into that stuff,” commented another fan.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. himself is the owner of a successful Xfinity Series team. Over the years, JR Motorsports has gained a lot of fans and a lot of it has to do with how Junior handles his own business.
“His team already has a built-in brand and fan base that other teams don’t due to him,” one fan wrote.
Fans have obviously been discontent at the lack of personality on the grid today. Rivalries and fiery interviews are few and far in-between. This has been a turn-off for a number of people of late.
