During the race at Fontana, homeboy Kyle Larson took the checkered flag after a display of thrilling racing in the closing laps. In fact, the whole race is being dubbed as one of the best, most exciting races in recent memory.

But while Larson had his sights on his first win of the season, the other HMS superstar Chase Elliott was also eager to be the best driver on the day, inside and outside his team. So he tried.

During the closing laps at the Auto Club Speedway, Elliott, who was making his way to the front, tried going to the right of his teammate. But just as he made the move, Larson, oblivious to Elliott’s presence, closed the door and move to his right.

As a result, Elliott’s left front made a contact with the No.5 Camaro and a few moments later, he spun out in a cloud of smoke.
