Even after repeated incidents between Ross Chastain and Denny Hamlin, their feud has still not died down. In fact if anything it was just reignited once again. The infamous Melon man who is known for consistently wrecking fellow drivers and driving them mad at him, struck once again.

During the race at the Los Angeles Coliseum last weekend, Chastain managed to spin out Hamlin. This certainly angered Hamlin quite a lot. However, during his recent podcast episode, Hamlin seemed oddly calm about it. Although, he did go on and talk about it.

During the podcast, Hamlin stated, “So you really have to dissect all these wrecks. Like when I get wrecked by Chastain and I’m just like, I don’t even know. Like, was a him or is it like someone else?…  It was him. Shocker.

But yeah, he just gassed it up early. Like he did at Gateway… didn’t you say something about awareness?”

Later on, Hamlin gave an example, to justify Chastain not being easy around him. He said, “when your kids misbehave, I’m not calling them kid by the way. When your kids misbehave, you just got to keep up with the punishment and to really kind of get their attention.”

Despite their raging feud last year, it was Chastain who emerged victorious over Hamlin. This was evident when Chastain pulled off the Hail Melon episode on Hamlin during the final lap of the Championship 4 decided at Martinsville.

Chastain had decided to send it on the final turn. Instead of slowing down as normal people would do, the watermelon man floored the gas pedal and rode the wall. On his way, he passed several drivers within the blink of an eye. Just as the finish line was approached, Chastain stole Hamlin’s happiness by crossing the line just ahead of him.

Hamlin’s face said it all after the race was over. He definitely was not happy with the turn of events. Following that race, Hamlin was knocked out of the best-of-four round. Meanwhile, the lord of melons moved on ahead and staged a rather fantastic season for himself. Now with the 2023 season about to begin, we already know that Hamlin is not happy with Chastain. This gives the fans a good reason to keep an eye out for what might go down between the two drivers as the races go on.
