He said, “I feel like, it’s probably going to be like Michael Jordan or Tom Brady. Because I feel like they’ll motivate me and get me to the finish line.” Byron certainly doesn’t think small, as he chose two of the most iconic American athletes ever.

Byron also spoke about his ideal in-car meal if it was allowed in a caution period. He would love to have pizza, but acknowledged that it could be horribly messy.

What to expect from William Byron at Daytona this weekend?

This weekend is a crucial one, as it will probably set the tone for the upcoming season. Admittedly, Kyle Larson will be one of the favorites, with Chase Elliott being a close second. However, Byron and Alex Bowman are no slouches, and they can also pose a threat.

They know that they have to be stronger in order to put up a better fight for the Cup Series title. At the same time, all four Hendrick drivers are aware that their rival teams will not be idle.

So, the pressure is on everyone to start the season well, so that they have the advantage for the rest of the campaign. Without a doubt, most of the eyes will be on Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing and the other usual suspects.

However, the Daytona 500 has a history of throwing up surprises. Just ask Michael McDowell, who stunned everyone last year when he won the race. There have also been other occasions where non-Hendrick of JGR drivers won. However, it is really difficult to predict who will come out on top.
