But while Josh Williams recently came under fire from haters for missing qualifying and practice at COTA, the community stands in solitude with an Xfinity Series debutant who was eager to make his debut at Richmond. Morgen John Baird will not be driving the #6 JD Motorsports next week, choosing to remain with his family as his wife endures a medical emergency with the pregnancy.

Morgen J Baird pulls out of Richmond Raceway to support his family

Next weekend at Richmond Raceway was all set to be Morgen J Baird’s start to his NASCAR Xfinity career, an announcement fans weren’t expecting so late into the season. With that said, we might just have to wait longer before we can witness that enticing debut. Taking to X, the budding Xfinity Series rookie revealed that his family had been struck by a medical emergency, owing to which he will need to be replaced by Garrett Smithley.

With that said, Baird revealed to his concerned fans exactly what was going on behind the scenes. He stated, “While on my way to Richmond for this weekend’s Xfinity Race, I received an urgent call from my fiance, Victoria, stating that she was ordered by doctors to be induced for labor immediately due to the lack of blood flow our baby boy was receiving while in the womb, along with measuring smaller than normal.”

The 31-year-old went on to explain that his son’s heart rate had been low for the past few days, adding more complications to the mix. He added, “I returned to Michigan to be by her side as we wait for our son to arrive. What is most important to me is the arrival of a safe and healthy baby boy and a safe delivery for Victoria. I would like to thank JD Motorsports and all of my sponsors as we navigate through this situation. Everyone has been very supportive throughout this process & the last-minute changes.”

Whilst the 31-year-old hailing from Jackson, Michigan was disappointed he’d have to miss out on his Xfinity debut, it wasn’t all doom and gloom. He concluded, “I am working with the team/sponsors to announce another race at a later date. As we continue to wait for our son to arrive, please pray for Victoria and our baby boy, Brody.”

Only a few days prior to this, Josh Williams had also pulled out of qualifying and practice at COTA to be the side of his wife to welcome their newborn. Back then, the community seemed to have a few haters in the mix, calling Williams various names for missing out on the sessions. With that said the entire NASCAR community ensured that Baird would feel their support instead.
