Xfinity Star Offers Elon Musk Exclusive Texas Sponsorship Deal Amidst Promise to Resolve $44 Billion Social Dilemma

In the modern world of NASCAR, whenever an intense moment or controversy arises in the paddock, fans swiftly flock to social media platforms to dissect what unfolded. And for the longest time, Twitter prevailed as the primary hub for such discussions. However, with Elon Musk’s staggering $44 Billion acquisition of the social media giant, fans have been left with one major question as the discussions continue. Should the community continue calling the site Twitter, or switch their lingo over to Musk’s “X” rebranding? Amidst these discussions, DGM driver, Josh Bilicki, also weighed in with a humorous touch.
Josh Bilicki believes he has the perfect solution for Elon Musk
It’s no secret that the switch from Twitter to X has left many sour, particularly because of the loss of the cherished logo. But what ticked them off even further is the confusing nature of conversations surrounding the platform, with users calling the platform both X and Twitter at the same time. Even some NASCAR stars, such as Josh Bilicki, could feel the confusion building up.

To help the community with this dilemma, Josh Bilicki shared a poll on X. He asked fans, “While I have you all here….what do you call this app?” And from taking a look at the number of responses (over 2000) it’s safe to say Bilicki’s “survey” covered a large number of people. However, the results won’t certainly please Elon Musk.
A whopping 81% of the voters shared that they still considered the platform to be Twitter, revealing that Musk’s rebranding had fallen short of making its mark. And that’s just what Bilicki had been planning to achieve, as he shared a hilarious proposition with Musk on his platform. Bilicki designed an eye-catching model for his DGM Racing #92 Chevy Camaro, with X as the main, hypothetical sponsor.
While the design was simple (quite in line with X’s branding principles) it made room for a hilarious campaign that could help fans identify the platform as X, and not Twitter. Bilicki wrote, “Hey @elonmusk, results are speaking for themselves. Sponsor our car in your home state of Texas and we can help spread the word that it’s X, not twitter. 😜😂”. Not only did Bilicki back his proposal with actual market research, but also selected the perfect location, with Texas being Musk’s home state.

Unfortunately, it seems like Bilicki’s efforts didn’t meet what Elon Musk’s desires for X would ultimately be, with the NASCAR community pulling no punches against the rebranded platform.

Although Josh Bilicki’s proposal for a possible X sponsorship at the Texas Motor Speedway sent some fans into laughter, an overwhelming majority also spoke out against the idea of switching over. Users commended Bilicki for his pitch but expressed their firm stance, “Still Twitter, sorry bud.” Others stated, “I’ll keep calling it Twitter until the URL changes.”

For more than a decade, Twitter has been one of the most beloved social media platforms owing to its community, but all that seems to have changed over the years. A user pointed out how X had wiped out the brand identity that Twitter had built. The user expressed, “Twitter. Will never call it X. They literally had their own lingo everyone knew and they just dropped it because of memes.”
On the other hand, users also pointed out the confusion ‘X’ had created. “I say Twitter because everyone else says Twitter if more people understood what I meant when I said “I saw this post on X” I’d say X more often but it sounds like I’m trying to explain a trip I had…” and “X sounds a little confusing in conversation.” However, some were on Bilicki’s side, sharing their support with the #92 DGM driver, “I mean, I’d root for the “not Twitter” car.”

With that said, we can say Josh Bilicki’s honorable try at getting sponsorship from X for his stint at Texas may have failed to sway fans away from the ‘Twitter’ nostalgia, but it certainly created a hilarious proposal in the process.
