The shorthanded Philadelphia 76ers suffered a humiliating loss against the Brooklyn Nets tonight. In their second straight game without their superstar Joel Embiid, the Sixers got blown out by the Nets 121-136. Emotions were running high in the Sixers squad, leading to some controversial decisions during the game. Veteran guard Patrick Beverley got ejected from the game early in the 4th quarter for arguing with an official.

The Sixers were trailing the game by 23 points and challenged one of the calls by the officials. The challenge was deemed unsuccessful, infuriating Beverley about the decision. Pat Bev argued with the official about the call and received his first technical foul while he was walking away.

The call triggered Beverley even more, and he returned to give the official a piece of his mind. That led to Beverley getting his second technical foul, and he got booted from the game. Beverley left the game with over 8 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. He finished with 9 points, 9 assists, and 3 rebounds in 20 minutes of play.

Even though the game is in the books, Patrick Beverley might face some serious repercussions for his actions. It is still unclear what he said to the official, but his aggressive stance towards the referee will be enough to earn him a hefty fine.

Beverley got all up in the official’s face after the first technical while the official tried to walk away. However, this is not the first time Beverley has let his emotions get the better of him.

Patrick Beverley might not be the best player in the league, but not many athletes play with as much heart and passion as him. He is infamous for getting under his opponent’s skin and leaving his emotions on the floor. And that has even put him in some trouble throughout his career.

Last season, while Beverley was still on the Lakers squad, he got ejected for shoulder-tackling DeAndre Ayton during a game. Beverley did not like Ayton standing over his teammate Austin Reaves and came to his aid. He was charged with a double technical for the aggressive play and got ejected from the game.
