Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokić’s separate paths to Greatness

Even though Nikola Jokić and Luka Doncic are two of the most dominant players in the league, their paths to success have been very different. The Joker had a silent start to his NBA career, as no one had ever seen a Center with his skill set. He slowly started asserting his dominance in the league and made his first All-Star team in his 4th season. Jokic won back-to-back MVPs in 2021 and 2022. At 6’11, Jokic is one of the best playmakers in league history. His ability to score, rebound, and create shots for his teammates makes him a triple-double machine.

While Jokic’s journey to being the best Center in the league started slow, Luka’s career skyrocketed as soon as he entered the NBA. Luka entered the league at 19 years old after dominating European basketball and becoming the youngest MVP in Euro League history. His game translated perfectly in the NBA, and he made his first all-star team at age 20. Luka has never missed an All-Star game since and is having an MVP-caliber season this year.
