Jimmy Butler’s latest revelation sent shock waves across Florida. Fans are trying their best to keep the team intact. They have no option other than to seek help from the Heat legend Dwyane Wade. While they didn’t approach him directly after the concerning statement, they opted to resurface the 3x NBA Champ’s thumping words on unity in Heat Culture on social media.

One of the X handles with the username @DontHateTheH3at, shared a short clip from Wade’s speech from his recent statue unveiling ceremony. It seemed as if Wade knew what was happening in the Heat locker room long before it hit the headlines.
Here’s what DWade said in the resurfaced short video clip: “A house divided against itself will not stand. Y’all hear that… Current Miami Heat players, Y’all hear that? A house divided against itself will not stand. You’re either in or you’re out.“

To set the context, Jimmy Butler, who took the Heat to the two Finals in the last four years, had a slight rift with Pat Riley & Co. when they didn’t extend his contract heading into this season. Meanwhile, during the Media Day, Riley openly admitted his concerns over Butler’s recurring injuries. Despite the misunderstanding, both parties continued to sail on the same boat.
It only lasted for less than three months as trade rumors have begun to infest the NBA world. It even forced Riley to respond to the rumors where in his statement, the Heat President wrote, “We will make it clear – we are not trading Jimmy Butler.”
Last night, Butler revealed that he doesn’t have “joy” playing for the Heat. When a reporter asked if he would find joy in the future, Butler simply said, “Probably not.” Well, that sounded like the end of the road.
Miami Heat responds to Jimmy Butler’s trade request
Jimmy Butler has one year left in his contract spanning till the 2025-26 season worth $52 million with a player option. Had Pat Riley extended the star’s contract in the 2024 off-season, they wouldn’t even have arrived at his spot. It’s truly a million-dollar gamble! Nevertheless, whatever is done is done. After Butler’s honest press interaction, the ball was in the Heat front office’s court.
They have responded as well. As per ESPN, the team has suspended Butler for “multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team”, in a statement released on Friday night. The Miami Heat said, “Through his actions and statements, he has shown he no longer wants to be part of this team… Jimmy Butler and his representative have indicated that they wish to be traded, therefore, we will listen to offers.”
