November 6 was the last time Ben Simmons stepped onto an NBA court. The Brooklyn Nets forward has been troubled with injuries ever since his controversial saga with the Philadelphia 76ers. As a Nets player, Simmons looked to have found his new identity. He approached the season with vigor, looking forward to playing as many games as he could. Sadly, lingering back issues have limited him to only six games so far.

The defensive point guard suffered a nerve impingement in his lower back while facing the Milwaukee Bucks. The starlet was distraught. Back injuries hold such sensitivity that the process of recovery has to be careful. As of late November, Simmons and the Nets providing a rather disturbing update – there is still no timetable for Simmons’ return. Tonight, as the Nets took on the Lakers, the former Sixer made an appearance. However, the NBA fanbase was unforgiving towards him.

Ben Simmons has been the ‘villain’ for the past few years. Philly despises him for turning his back on the franchise. Now, the NBA verse is working in unison to release their rage. The gateway for their frustrations was seeing Simmons in his comfortable clothes, watching the Nets take on the Los Angeles Lakers.

The NBA fans weren’t pleased in the slightest watching him warm the bench. They called out the former All-Star guard for taking advantage of the NBA’s arrangements for such injuries. They even suggested the Nets fire him because of his lack of services.

As much as Brooklyn would benefit from having Ben Simmons, they didn’t seem to feel his absence while battling the Los Angeles Lakers. After being cornered in the first half, dynamo scorer Cam Thomas took matters into his own hands.

He successfully scored a game-high 33 points to help the Nets come back in the second half. LeBron James and Anthony Davis combining for 50 points, wasn’t enough for the illustrious Lakers to hang on to their lead. Brooklyn outscored their rivals 68-44 in the second half to turn the scales in their favor.
