First UFC, then WWE, and now Prime Hydration has reached the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers announced their new deal with YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI’s Prime Hydration beverage brand on Tuesday. In a social media post, they wrote, “Lakers x @drinkprime Hydration: Get ready L.A., PRIME Hydration is the new Official Sports Drink of the Los Angeles Lakers.”
This new deal comes on the heels of the UFC’s exclusive global partnership with the YouTubers’ $3.1 billion venture back in January 2023. Then, WWE followed suit and announced the energy drink brand as the company’s exclusive official hydration drink partner and mat sponsor last week. The influencer-backed company has also signed partnerships with football clubs, including Arsenal, FC Barcelona, and FC Bayern Munich.

The announcement also came right after Logan Paul unveiled the date and venue of the Summer Slam 2024. However, while revealing the dates, the reigning WWE U.S. Champion playfully teased a pro-wrestling match with LeBron James. In his ImPaulsive podcast, Paul confirmed that, for the first time since 1996, the Summer Slam is coming to Cleveland, Ohio, LeBron James’ hometown. The event will take place at the Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3. As a native of Forest City, Paul wants the upcoming show to be unlike any other Cleveland has seen.
While talking about putting on a good show in his hometown, he expressed, “Hopefully I can get an opponent that I can bring the house down with.” When his co-host, Mike, jokingly suggested LeBron James as the opponent, Paul humored him, saying he’s “probably” going to wrestle with the Lakers star.

However, before James takes up Paul on that offer, his sights are set on making a deep run into the playoffs.
A positive update for the Los Angeles Lakers fans
The Los Angeles Lakers made a big statement with their two straight wins over potential title contenders in the Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves. While they are still hovering in the play-in region, the wins have now positioned them just two games behind the Phoenix Suns, who occupy the sixth spot and a guaranteed playoff spot. With the return of a key rotation player on the horizon, their prospects for success are starting to look more promising.

Gabe Vincent played only five games before he had to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in December. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the window for a potential return begins as early as next week. While it is still unknown how the 27-year-old will impact the game, he is expected to add another element to the backcourt rotation or at the very least some depth at the guard position.
