Marcus Smart Gets Brutally Honest About Suspended Ja Morant’s Presence Around Grizzlies Camp

The Memphis Grizzlies don’t have things going their way this season. While their franchise star, Ja Morant remains in suspension for 25 games, an abysmal start to the regular season results in them being the team with the worst record in the league.

The addition of veteran guards, like Derrick Rose and Marcus Smart, has had no impact on the improvement of their overall performance. Owing to that, the former Defensive Player of the Year clears the air about Morant and the Grizzlies camp.

More Recently, their newly acquired guard sat down for an interview. In the interview, he gave a candid answer on his take on Ja Morant’s suspension. The interviewer asked the former Boston Celtics star how much he had gotten to do with Morant.


He further added, “There are a lot of new guys here who don’t understand how things work here in the organization. Being able to have somebody like Ja who has been here and understands it, he has helped us out a little bit. He’s been great with building that relationship.”

As Morant’s suspension nears its end, his chemistry with the veteran remains a crucial question. The young star’s absence has been detrimental to the Grizzlies and their record in the regular season proves the importance of Ja.

Ja Morant’s absence loomed large, evident in the team’s inability to capitalize on crucial moments. Despite flashes of individual brilliance from some players, there was a noticeable absence of a defining factor.

As of now the Memphis Grizzlies have won 2 games and lost 9. The latest loss came against the Los Angeles Lakers 107-134. With 14 games still remaining before Ja Morant is allowed to set foot on the hardwood again, do think Memphis has a shot at the Playoffs?
